About this Episode
This question comes up a lot with sports players "How come I play better in practice than I do in Competition?"
The simple answer is that 'you play better in practice than you do in competition because there is no pressure.'
- You practice your skills in a non pressure environment.
- It doesn't matter if you make a mistake, you can have another try at it.
This is common with all athletes, because they don't know how to focus. The reason they don't know how to focus is because they haven't learned the skill of 'how to focus'.
The question then becomes 'how do you play better in competitions, and how do you focus?'
These are covered in more detail in this episode but here are the 5 Steps below;
- Meditation
- Practice staying in the moment
- Practice at targets
- Pressure Practice
- When playing competition - focus on staying in the moment, one shot at a time
Have an absolutely awesome day and remember, Dream Big, Believe In You & Go After Your Dreams.
